It was getting late, and the kids had to get ready
for bed. They were already done with their dinner and had brushed their teeth.
They kissed their parents goodnight and curled in their beds under the covers.
It was a bit chilly but not too much, but Molly kept
herself bundled up so that her little feet wouldn't get cold. After a while, her and
her little brother Steve were sound asleep.
Molly started dreaming of a beautiful green park with
lots of big trees and berry bushes. She saw herself walking around with her little
brother when she saw a pair of red shiny boots in the bushes. They looked sparkly
new and she thought they were just the size of her cold little feet. "These
boots will keep my feet warm" she thought, and when she didn't find anyone in the
park she figured that they don't belong to anyone.
Molly tried the boots on and they fit perfectly! Her brother thought they looked
beautiful on her. Molly stood up and started walking, but all of a sudden...
grew taller and taller. Pretty soon she was taller than the biggest tree in the park. She
screamed for help from Steve but he only covered his ears to stop them from ringing.
All of a sudden the sky became a deep purple and the trees turned to gold.
She saw a little man with wings fly towards her.
"Good afternoon madam,"greeted the man. I see you have found my
boots." He smiled with a sly look on his face.
"Who are you," asked Molly. She was curious for the man happened to
be a fairy.
"I am the Great Balthezar of Lunairim," answered the man. "Now
if you don't mind I would like to have my boots back please! The beautiful queen is
waiting. She has the power to turn you into a fairy like me!"
Molly, not knowing what to do, took off the boots and gave them to the fairy.
Balthezar accepted them gratefully. In a flash after the boots were off Molly started
shrinking back to her normal height.
She saw Steve still covering his ears, but when she tried to talk to him, her
voice was as melodic as a flute. From that day on she had a voice of beauty in her dreams.
